Bastet The Protector Brooch
Please note this design features magnificent resins which may differ slightly from piece to piece, and from the example pictured, making each and every piece entirely unique!
Ferocious daughter of the sun god Re, this Bastet the Protector brooch is part of our Egyptian Revival collection. Inspired by all things Ancient Egypt, as filtered through the lens of Art Deco design, this glorious brooch is brought to life with a stunning textured resin and has been hand-finished with both glittered and patterned resins, a gorgeous gold mirror resin and painted details. It can be worn together with the matching Bastet the Protector earrings and enamel pin and pairs exceptionally well with the Bastet the Protector head scarf.
Felines may be much adored in the 21st century, but the divine Bastet set the trend, having been worshipped for her powers of protection since ancient times.
Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand, there can be very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in the designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.
Brooch clasp is made with 100% stainless steel pin and plated brass screws. Components have changed over time and older designs may be made with other materials.
Designs come packaged in Erstwilder gift boxes.
Please be aware that resin is akin to ceramic and glass and therefore may be damaged if dropped or knocked. Keep your Erstwilder companion neatly tucked away in this box when not being worn, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, water, and excessive sunlight and you’ll have a trusted friend for years to come. Please note that for any design with etched linework, particularly on mirror resins, and especially where lines curve, may have a slightly jagged or uneven appearance. This feature is due to the nature of the materials and an expected part of the process of production. Also note, mirrored acrylic cannot be polished or tumbled during the production process so it will not feature the smooth edge that you would expect on other resin pieces.
