Always jumping forward, toward new opportunities, the Kangaroo is one of the most culturally significant Australian animals. There may be more Kangaroos than people here down under, but our Kangaroo 'Yuri' Brooch is as rare as can be. Best add to cart immediately, before they hop away. This unique and elevated design is a part of our long-awaited collaboration with Aboriginal Artist Melanie Hava. With layered resin and featuring hand-finished details, Melanie's incredible art has been taken off canvas and brought to life as wearable art.

Iconic, symbolic, emblematic. I dare you to find an animal that springs to mind faster than me when someone thinks of Australia.

63mm x 80cm (H x W)

Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand, there can be very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in the designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

Brooch clasp is made with 100% stainless steel pin and plated brass screws. Components have changed over time and older designs may be made with other materials.

Designs come packaged in Erstwilder gift boxes.

Please be aware that resin is akin to ceramic and glass and therefore may be damaged if dropped or knocked. Keep your Erstwilder companion neatly tucked away in this box when not being worn, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, water, and excessive sunlight and you’ll have a trusted friend for years to come. Please note that for any design with etched linework, particularly on mirror resins, and especially where lines curve, may have a slightly jagged or uneven appearance. This feature is due to the nature of the materials and an expected part of the process of production. Also note, mirrored acrylic cannot be polished or tumbled during the production process so it will not feature the smooth edge that you would expect on other resin pieces.
